The weekend started off
with an assist call to Denver, Station 1-3. Engine 1-1-1 was dispatched
just before 03:00 hours for the Rapid Intervention Team assist on a
working dwelling fire. Engine 1-1-1 staffed with 6 arrived & was
instructed to split crew to assist with fire control and RIT functions.
The crew remained on the scene and assisted with repacking hose lines,
salvage & overhaul. Engine 1-1-1 cleared the scene around 07:00.
Just about 4 hours later Engine 1-1-1 was dispatched to the 2600 Block
of North Reading road for Alarm Bells, Chief 1-1 arrived reporting
normal conditions, and determined the source of the alarm to be a
malfunctioning burglar alarm. Units cleared in about 30 minutes. Sunday
around noon, the station was dispatched for an alarm at the elementary
school. Chief 1-1-2 arrived on scene to find the emergency generator
running, and the heat detector in that room had been triggered. Crews
along with maintenance personnel controlled the situation and went
available in under an hour.
