In addition to the above qualifications, the requirements in the following section will also be enforced at all times.
What Must I Do to Maintain Active Membership?
Members of this ring agree to the following guidelines at all time:
- Continue to follow any of the rules above
- Display the code on the registered URL so that it complies with the rules of PASS/PASS-L
- Uphold the spirit of WebRing by keeping a reasonable number of memberships. Ring collectors will be excluded.
- Keep your stack restricted to relevent topics to the registered page. If your site is multi-topic, register each section with relevant Rings. Use your main page for "general interest" Rings. Quality over quantity.
- Avoid generic Rings designed only to get as many members as possible, these Rings generally have little traffic and terrible navigation. Remember, WebRings are about sharing traffic. If you aren't getting your share, drop the membership.
- The site must promote Total Ring Navigability. This means the registered URL must be clearly and easily accessible from other pages of your website through a link called "main" or "home" (if you registered the main/home page) or "WebRings" (if you registered a WebRings, splash, or other interstitial page).
- Multiple URLs from one user will only be accepted if the submissions are for separate websites or individual sections of a website that do not easily link to the other submitted pages. This is to avoid entering through one NavBar and leaving through another (which cuts groups of sites off from visitors).
- Keep all membership (most importantly - URL) and personal (meaning email address) information updated
