Everyone knows how great Skin So Soft makes you feel after a bath (whether using original, soft & sensual, or light and lush), but how many other practical uses are you aware of?
Note: Avon does not promote Skin So Soft as anything except a bath oil. These uses were collected by representatives over the years, but we still recommend exercising common sense when applying them to your situation as
- By design, it's a bath oil and after-shower moisturizer.
- It removes make-up (any kind but we recommend using Avon color!)
- A hot oil treatment that softens cuticles and nails.
- Great massage for tired muscles (hand a bottle to your significant other and put him to work).
- A few capfuls added to liquid soap creates a great homemade shaving lotion.
- Tanning oil (but not a sunscreen).
- Soothes minor burns and light sunburn.
- It's a mild insect repellent (or just use Bug Guard Plus, the EPA-certified repellent derived from this use)
- Rubbed on hands before washing, it helps get them cleaner.
- Use on hands instead of turpentine to remove paint
- Also removes ink, oil, and grease from hands
- Applied to cracked, bleeding skin, it promotes healing within a few days.
- Relieves the itching from bug bites, dry skin, or psoriasis
- Cleans off tape marks from bandages on skin.
- Removes chewing gum from hair.
- Removes ink, paint, oil, and grease from skin.
- Add to your foot bath for added moisturizing
- Remove lice or nits by saturating head. Rinse after 15 minutes, then wash with Advanced Techniques shampoo until the oil is out.
- Rub a small amount into clean, dry hair for soft, shiny hair like on the TV ads
- Rub on hands prior to handling animals to minimize the odor left behind.
- Massage into the skin of your cat every few days to repel fleas, it poses no hazard to licking felines as they self groom.
- Removes adhesive left behind by stickers on glass, metal, & most plastics.
- Removes gum and candle wax from clothing, furniture, and carpet.
- Removes the glue from price tags on glass, metal, and plastic.
- Removes crayon from painted walls (if flat paint, dilute in water to limit visible oily residue) and most surfaces, including appliances
- Removes ink from vinyl and many other surfaces.
- Spray on air conditioner filters to freshen the air and simplify future filter cleaning.
- Sponge it around doors, windows, and on screens to keep bugs out.

- Add a small amount to mop water (not too much or the floor gets slippery) and keep away the crawling pests
- Lubricant for runners on windows and sliding doors.
- Great cleaner and conditioner for natural wood and leather.
- Because it's great on wood, it makes a fabulous-smelling furniture polish
- Use to clean windows.
- Removes soap scum from tub and shower, even shower curtains and doors
- Removes lime and hard water deposits from fixtures and around the tub and shower.
- Rub on brass objects to help keep them from turning dark.
