Warning Letter

The letter essentially reads as follows:
Hello --yid--,

According to our records you are the registered RingMaster of the Ring, --ring--: --title--, under the WebRing User ID --yid--, and that Ring falls into one or more of the follow categories:

a. Been idle for more than 45 days with pending submissions.
b. Continue to have excessive pending submissions (3 or more).
c. Continue to have an unsatisfactorily low navigation rating for the Ring.

We have temporarily processed pending submissions automatically but, you need to log on and manage the Rings under your control or you may risk having the management duties passed to another member. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This message is a bit different from the 30-day warning in that it contains less details. You already received the 30-day warning two weeks earlier. If you failed to follow the directions then, including them a second time isn't likely to help. Refer to the first email for those instructions. If you don't have that first email, refer to my copy. Your situation is still one of the three, possibly even more than one by now. Read on to see where the situation stands.
  1. Idle with pending submissions means that the system has noted that you have not logged into your account for at least 45 days/6 weeks/1 1/2 months. At this point, the submission had been pending for two weeks, which is longer than most applicants are willing to wait patiently. As stated elsewhere in the letter, the system processed the submission(s) so when you log in, you won't see any. However, since the system wants you to manage the Ring, locate the auto-accepted membership and verify its qualifications. Just that bit of activity will satisfy the system.
  2. 3 or more pending submissions is reminding you that you aren't processing submissions fast enough. Remember, Conditional Approval saves you from extra work and wasted time.
  3. Navigation rating is under 50 is no different than in the 30-day email.
In the first situation, the email notes that the pending submissions have been processed. I'm currently trying to learn if system also automanages the 3+ pendings and sub-50 navigation rating. I'll update this page when I know for sure (and perhaps persuade WebRing to update the email to be clearer.)

The 45-day email is your final warning. If you fail to, at very least, log into the account within ten days of that email, the system will auto-adopt the affected Ring with no email confirmation. If your Ring is placed for adoption, your only recourse is to try to claim it back. WebRing Support and the Help Forum are unable to assist.
