A long awaited for puppy. This little gal is exactly what we were hoping to get when we first met the Corwyn crew. She is a gorgeous little puppy. Very sweet tempered if not a bit stubborn at times and she moves like a dream! We have just as high hopes for her as we do for Brook so check back often to see what she is up to!
Name Game: Getting this girl was a bit
unexpected as the next dog to come through our house was
to be my dane girl but when I first saw her picture I was
intrigued to say the least but did not let on to my husband
because he wanted her but wasn't pushing it because he knew
I had hoped for a dane puppy. Still...he and Tammy would drop
the occassional hints about her and I would just change the
subject. Tammy continued to share pictures and I was still
smitten by this little girl so we decided to meet Tammy and
the babies at a local hunt test and from the moment I saw her,
felt her, and watched this puppy move I knew we had to have
her and here she is. She is just gorgeous.
Tammy had already had her call name chosen as well
as that of her sister Robin. (get it...bird theme) and by the time we
got her at 13 weeks we decided to keep it. As far as her registered name
I couldn't have been more pleased when Tammy told me she wanted to include
my kennel name on her registration. It proved to be a challenge because
there would be three lengthy kennel names on her.
Tammy's (Corwyn),
the co-breeder, Monica Broomfield (Tradewind), and mine (Boarpoint) and of course
you always want to try to choose a register name that fits with their
call name and this was no exception. Since her call name is Raven
my husband started looking for other names used for Raven and found
the Olde English name for a raven which is Valkyrie. How befitting. Olde English name
for an English Pointer!!
