Please check out the new logo, I am far from an artist, but I think it looks good and clean, something that would look nice on a shirt and banner. I posted a poll in the forum.

Maple Grove Race Way. For those that came Friday (8/3) Rob (Tortoise72), Dustin (8sec71) and Dan (00WS6TA), a great time was had by all. I think most of us got in 4+ runs. Rob's 72 Chevelle is the real deal, driving an hour to the track, and then clicking off mid to low 13s all night, only to drive home. Dustin was cranking out 14.40's with his Dodge Truck (Chevelle is down at the moment). Dan managed a 12.7 on the last run of the night. We hope to schedule another Maple Grove outing very soon

With wit, charm, and charisma, Dave shines on The Tonight Show

Late-night TV met NHRA Drag Racing Monday when PA-CE member Dave made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the rookie driver from Hatfield, PA shined brightly in front of the NBC television cameras. Dave, was somewhat confused why he was ask to come on the show, even though, was witty and charming while serving as a great ambassador for the sport. From his opening, "I'm Hooked," when Leno complimented him on his second place standing, you know these days the competition is tough, so second place isn't bad." Dave got his fair share of laughs and several hearty cheers from the crowd.

“The whole experience was really great,” said Dave, who was featured in a five-minute segment on the program following actor Brad Garrett and in advance of a performance by Cirque du Soleil. “This is definitely one of the funnest interviews I have ever done.”

Sean Finally Spills Emotions

West Chester, PA - For a moment in time, the Green Monster was in front of PA-CE Team Member "Blown Rat". An emotional Sean later wept, "that was the best 3 seconds of my life, when out of nowhere, this idiot comes flying by me, but I'll always have the memories of those 3 seconds, and that" stated Sean, "can not be taken away from me."

Despite Trying To Lose, SpiderDan Still Wins

Reading, PA - Our very own SpiderDan took first place in the 2nd annual PA-CE's Shoot Out Event at Maple Grove Race Way in his Blown 70 SS 396.

An excited SpiderDan said, "I even gave my good buddy a handicap by trying a couple of tricks, a reverse line lock burn out, and then launching at the gates in 3rd gear." Stated Dan, "These guys are serious, I may have did ok tonight, but when I meet the Green Monster" (Sean) in October, our team is hearing he will have an F16 Jet engine along with slicks, however, with the jet engine, I think the slicks might be a little over kill. Um... I don't even want to think what the other guys are bringing, especially Dave."

Dave's 2nd Place "I'm Hooked"

Reading PA - Apparently Dave's lobbying was successful, Dave ran low to mid 13s all night consistently. He could not get back into staging fast enough, make no mistake, Dave takes his racing very serious, he tried running on 7 cylinders by unplugging one of his wires, voiced Dave, "I needed to find a way to hook this beast and thought dropping a cylinder would help", Dave continues, "it seemed to help off the line but really screwed up my top end MPH, which is why Dan stole first place in the event. He better watch out, because in the Oct event, I might just increase the boost on my blower and then try the 7 cylinder trick again."

Rick Is ALL Business

White Hall, PA - After blowing out his transmission on the second run (see below), a take-it-as-comes Rick stated, "no problem, now I'll get that race transmission I wanted", nicked-named "The Warrior" as Rick drives his Chevelle EVERYWHERE and NEVER uses a trailer, he'll be driving his Chevelle this weekend to our 2nd PA-CE's meeting. A big thumbsup to Rick for getting his car back in order so fast. Later, Rick was heard saying, "Dan is a bad influence on me."

O U C H

Seatte, WA - Souces close to the Green Monster Team has comfirmed Sean has been poking around on the grounds of the Boeing Plant looking for that F16 Jet Engine, said Sean, "screw 85MPH", Say what you want about PA-CE memebrs, these boys know how to have fun and go fast!.

PA-CE Grudge Shoot Out Meeting

Maple Grove Raceway - Friday September 7 was the place to be for Chevelle fans and better yet PA-CE members. We had our second PA-CE Grudge night outing. Members in attendance were, Rick (67 Pro Street), Sean (SS396), Dave (Blown 67), Joe (Camaro), Chad (69 Malibu), Sam (Camaro Race Car) & Rob (72 Chevelle), Rob (nothing - maybe next time Rob).

Rob, the one with a car, was able to make it after a tough day at work, we were happy he was able to make the event. Kudos to Rob!

After eagerly getting through tech, taking off trim rings, BS'ing about "I know this car won't hook", we quickly went to staging to get our first run, I didn't know there were so many butterflies in the area, but they were flying everywhere. Unfortunately after the first run, there were no speed records broken, however, Dan tried to do a line lock burnout in reverse only to find out he had no line lock, Dan's reason, "with my two fans coming all the way down from Harrisburg, I really wanted to give them a show, they really need pads on the back wall, that was my only concern" said Dan regarding his stunt.

Before the late-night crowd arrived most PA-CE members got in a quick three runs each, many times running against fellow PA-CE members, after all, it was grudge night. Of course with the kind of power PA-CE members are running, traction was a major problem all night.

Dave is seriously thinking about changing careers and attending John Force's Top Fuel/funny Car Drag Racing School, lamented Dave, "I'm Hooked" - And Dave assured us he would be ordering his roll bar from Jegs first thing Monday morning. Sean said, "driving the green monster through the traps was like cruising down the turnpike, at 85 MPH I felt right at home" Apparently Joe was a little confused, he thought it was Camaro night, while in staging he kept insisting this was Camaro night,an insistent Joe, "You do know, technically speaking, PA-CE could stand for Pennsylvania Camaro Enthusiast" - we assured Joe it was ALL about Chevelles. Chad had his small block Chevelle running well and consistent all night. The staff here at PACE is still working on getting all the final numbers, so please post your results in the forum section guys.

On a serious note, Rick had a good solid test run on the first go, however, on the second run had major transmission problems. True to form Rick took it all in stride and knowing Rick, he'll be back up and running as soon as possible. You have to Rick, a car event wouldn't be the same without you, and that is shared by all PACE members.

Sam, we were not aware of your seat belt problem until later in the night, Dan has a new pair that has never been used (dated 2007), if interested, you can contact him at danf@dejazzd.com.

The gang would like to give a big thanks to Dave and his wife (Maureen); she bought pizza and drinks for everyone during a holding pattern in staging after an oil spill. Also, Dave let everyone keep their belongings in his awesome enclosed trailer. Thanks Dave!

A big thanks goes to Rob for the awesome photos and video, which can be seen here.

We believe this was a very successfull and fun night for all, and plan on another Grudge Run in October.

Next PA-CE Meeting

Chester Springs, PA - Ludwigs Corner - During the show, we discussed our next meeting would take place @ 12 Noon at 1839 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, PA 19344 (610-942-9494). From the sounds of it, there should be some good food and entertainment for all. Rick, Sean and Dan will put their heads together, and create the agenda for the meeting so we can accomplish a few items and get this club moving forward. We want to thank everyone so far that has shown interest and participated in some of the recent events.

Dave Lobbys Wife For More Chevelle Parts

Rumor has it Dave has been lobbying his wife for a few more parts for the Chevelle, sources say, he believes he can get his blown 67 in the 19's if he can just order a few more parts from Jegs and Summit. "I am not out to set any speed records at Maple Grove, I just want to them to know I can run with the big boys", stated Dave at a recent car event. We'll see how successful Dave's lobbying efforts were on Friday.

Ludwigs Corner Car Show

Chester Springs, PA - Ludwigs Corner - Today (9/3) the Historical Car Club of Pennsylvania (HCCP) held their annual Ludwig Corner Car Show. With plenty of sun and just flat-out beautiful weather, there were over 300 cars in attendance, including PA-CE members, Rick, Sean, Judy, John, and Dan. From very old Antiques to Muscle Cars too Pro Streets, there were cars for every enthusiast. As with most car events, lots of food, great friends and conversation.

Rick Helps Dan Install Line Lock

Ephrata, PA - Dan's Place - Rick helped me install my line-lock and shift light Saturday, it turned out to be an all day job, as Rick was bending brake lines and wiring, I was installing my UMI Low Relocation Brackets. I wanted to once again thank Rick for all his hard work. Rick is VERY knowledgeable and has patients beyond belief..

Our very own SpiderDan took first place in the 23rd annual TOYO TIRES NHRA NATIONALS at Maple Grove Race Way in his Blown 70 SS 396.

News, Stories & Dates

We encourage all members to submit Chevelle related news, stories, photos and car show dates, the IT team here at PACC will do our best to post all information. Our goal is to make this club and home page informational and fun for everybody. Thanks to Rob (Lititz, PA) and Dave for the meeting photos.

On A Serious Note...

Honey Brook, PA - PA Chevelle Club member Joe seriously hurt his hand on the way down to the meeting. He amazingly participated in the meeting when he had to be in major pain. He went to the hospital later in the day to find out he had an exposed fracture. He has to see an orthopedic surgeon next week to see if it needs further medical attention. We all hope for a speedy recovery, as he is schedules for a race in October. Keep us posted Joe.

PA-CC Member Secretly Changes Engine

Somewhere - a PA-CC member was able to pull off a Houdini trick and replace an engine with out his other half knowing about the ordeal. Something ALL hot rodders just dream of, this member not only did it, he got a way with it. Eager members were anxious to hear his secret as many need and want upgrades but don't want the hassle of negotiating with the other half. Apparently the secret is keeping the change/part close in size, the proud Houdini stated, "it worked well replacing a small block with another small block, not so sure I would have pulled it off if I went with a big block though…" - Pictures are being withheld to protect the guilty.

Rick is VERY knowledgeable and has patients beyond belief.
