I Want to talk about Me!

Me at my workbench.

Yep that right this page is all about me and my Hobby. So who am I, well my name is Delbert and I'm 36 years old and have decided to build models as a hobby, something I always wanted to get into, but could not for one reason or another, mainly because I couldn't afford to. I was born in Texas and grew up in Arkansas, and 7 years ago I meet my wife to be on this newfangled thing called the internet and I up and move to Pennsylvania and so far so good.. At least she hasn't turned into an axe murderer yet.

Back in December of 2001, I decided I needed a new hobby besides the computer. So I decided to take on the wonderful world of plastic modeling. When I went into the hobby shop, I was a little daunted by everything I thought I'd need. But I had a plan, whenever me and the wife went out on the weekend I'd stop into the hobbyshop and make a purchase of what I could afford that week be it $5 or $20, and after a few months I had enough stuff to really get started.

I live in an apartment and didn't really have room for a workbench, but I finally found a space I call my own.. the living room closet. 4 feet by 3 feet its my model building home. I have it tricked out to maximaxe the usage of my space.

My interests are mainly W.W.II armor and aircraft, ESP night fighters. I also have been buying kits of 1950's trucks and 1930's cars, I like how they look and you see them most often on the clearance Racks. I'm still fairly slow at building because I do most of my hobby work on weekends and odd hours in the night. To date I've built 13 models, 3 Aircraft, 8 armor, 1 nascar and 1 large truck. Check them out in the Model Gallery.

My personal modeling challenges to overcome are Lack of dedicated space, as I live in an apartment without any extra (i.e. unused rooms) and my wife can't stand the smell of airbrushing in the apartment.
