Glenn In 1939 Welcome to my web site. When I retired from the accounting profession in 1994, I became interested in genealogy. I soon realized that such things as birth records, death records, etc. provided only the bare bones of family history. Aside from a few anecdotes passed down through the family, the flesh, in the form of goals, ambitions, loves, heartbreaks, the things that make up day to day living, were almost impossible to find. I decided that I would make it a little easier for my descendants in the event any of them should ever become interested in their ancestors. So I sat down and wrote some of the things I remembered from my own life, from the Great Depression, through World War II, and on into the ensuing decades. Some of those stories can be found at this web site, and I will be adding more as time goes by. To read them, check the "Memoirs" menu.

Glenn In 1969 In addition to writing about myself, I also wrote a few of the stories which had been handed down through the family about some of my ancestors. Since what I had heard was rather general, I used my imagination on some of the details in order to make the stories more interesting. After all, if no one reads them, why bother to write them? Since these stories are a blend of fact and fiction, I call them faction. They can be found on the "Faction" menu.

I also managed to put together a family tree on my father's side, beginning with my great grandfather, Georges Grunenberger. Fortunately, I received a great deal of information from my second cousin, Beatrice Baass, whom I met for the first time at a >family reunion in September, 1998. This was the first family reunion in almost fifty years, and more than 50 people, ranging in age from seven weeks to 79 years, were there. Follow the links below to see how the family has grown.

You can reach my family tree from the "Family" menu.

Glenn In 1999 Writing the "faction" stories was so much fun, that I decided to write some fiction. I really enjoy that, and hope to do more in the future. For reasons which you will discover if you decide to read some of my stories, I have divided the fiction section into two parts. Please be sure to read the introduction to the section before you read the actual stories, which you can do by checking the "Fiction" menu.

I am far from being a world traveler, but I have been to a few places which have interested me enough to write my impressions of them. If you are going on vacation or taking any trips in the near future, perhaps you might see if any of these are of interest to you. You can find out on the "Travel" menu.

And last, like everyone else I have opinions, ideas and miscellaneous ramblings. Since this is my web site, I reserve the right to put them out there for others to agree, disagree, ignore or whatever. Check it out in the "Potpourri" section.
