Clinics
Team clinics have been scheduled as shown below:
Level 5 - Monday, July 20th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm (Deadline Thursday, July 16th).
Level 4 - Monday, August 3rd from 5:00 - 8:00 pm (Deadline Wednesday, July 22nd).
We will focus on Beam and Floor at these clinics. The clinics will feature a USAG certified judge who will give your gymnast tips on how to improve their routines for competition. We highly suggest that all team members attend the clinic. We expect it to be a good experience and to provide some insight into what the judges are looking for in the routines.
The cost for the clinic is $85. Please register at the desk. You can speak to Miss Kristi or Miss Barb if you have any questions.

What to Expect at a Competition
Just a few notes for the parents who may be attending their first competition.
- Be aware that there is usually an attendance fee at the door (up to $10 per adult and up to $6 per child).
- Gymnasts can bring a KB Gymnastics bag out onto the floor. A bottle of water and small healthy snack is permitted (but not lunch!).
- Parent/gymnast interaction is against the rules during a competition. A thumbs-up is OK, but running back to Mom (or meeting in the bathroom) is not!
- The competition floor is restricted to USGA registered gymnasts and coaches. Even Mr. Jay isn't allow out to see Miss Kristi.
- The coaches will release the gymnasts to their parents after a brief post-competition meeting, which includes thanking the host team.
- There is no flash photography allowed during the competition because it distracts the gymnasts. Video cameras are fine. Post competition flash pictures are OK too.
- The parent's club (of the host gym) usually runs a snack stand and raffles.
- Souvenirs, T-shirts, etc. are usually available for purchase.
- Sometimes you can also buy flowers or some other "good luck" item for the gymnast (like a little stuffed animal) that will be
delivered to your gymnast on the floor.
- A goody bag or some other item (like a t-shirt) is often given to the participants.
- Unfortunately, the gym can be hot and crowded. It may be hard to find a seat.
- We recommend that team parents try to sit together in order to provide a good cheering section! Don't forget to cheer
for the gymnasts!
- In addition to individual event awards, most competitions will give team awards where the top 3 scores from
each event are combined and totaled for an all-around team score.
- A gymnast's individual event scores are combined for an all-around score. So a gymnast can place in the 4 events
and in the all-around. Awards are given by age group.
- A competition can last up to 4 hours, depending on the number of participants in each session.
- The PA State Gymnastics website also has a page on Parent Protocol for Meets.
- Other guidelines may be announced at each individual competition.
