Boyertown, PA ---The J.K. Boyer Boyertown
Community Library and the Boyertown Area Unity Coalition invite all children
to enjoy a day of books to celebrate the Martin Luther King holiday on
Monday, January 20th, 2003. All day long, from 10 AM to 6:30 PM,
community volunteers will be reading to children in the library, 29 East
Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, from the list of award-winning books recommended
by Coretta Scott King, widow of the slain civil rights leader, who also
won the Nobel Peace Prize.
“It is
hoped that this will be a wonderful way for students and children to learn
why Dr. King was such a great leader, and why we celebrate his birthday,”
said Kathee Rhode, Library Director. This event also provides an opportunity
for parents and children to learn about how the future generation can be
more tolerant and accepting of each other.
Children are encouraged to visit the library at any time throughout the day. For more information, contact the Boyertown Community Library, 610-369-0496, or the Boyertown Area Unity Coalition, 610-845-8999.
