"Taking something bitter and turning it into something sweet"

Taking its inspiration and name from Lindy and Bill Seltzer's effortto discourage Klan activity in Springfield, Illinois, BAUC's Project Lemonadeseeks to counter hate groups and promote diversity and tolerance withinthe Boyertown area.  We need people such as you, who have the interest, courage, and willingness to support Project Lemonade as a response to publicdisplays of hatred, bigotry, and prejudice in Boyertown.  Your supportdemonstrates that people of good conscience will stand up for common decencyand respect for fellow human beings.

THE PUBLIC PROMOTION OF HATE BY ORGANIZED HATE GROUPS TOUCHES ALLOF US.  FOR THAT REASON, PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL MUST TAKE A STAND TOENSURE THAT HATRED DOES NOT FLOURISH IN BOYERTOWN OR ANYWHERE ELSE.

"We regret that people in our society still find it necessary to put others down and promote fear of differences rather than build each other up and promote our differences as a source of strength.
We are saddened that as we pause to remember those who lost their lives last Sept. 11 -- and the message that loss sent in terms of our own vulnerabilities as a nation -- we face the threat of hate activity in the heart of our area."
