The Purpose of this site:

  • Show a beginner the basics of web site creation and design
  • Act as a template to help get the ball rolling on your first web site

This Site was created with the idea that you can learn how to create your own HTML web page by looking at the code and techniques used in these pages to make your own.

It was also created so that you may use the original source code of this site to base your new site off of. Simply by rearranging things, changing graphics, links and text. Download all the source files used to create this site (first_site.zip) or download the source files with the HTML comments in (first_site_comments.zip)

To get started you will want to go to the personal web space Technical Support section of the D&E Jazzd web site. There you'll learn how to set up your free web space, and get/use the programs you'll need to create your site.

You may also want to sign up for one of our hosting plans that offer more web space, that means you can put more of your family outing pictures and anything else you like on the internet. The Free Web Space can disappear fast. In addition to to the extra space you can use more powerful features like: CGI scripts, Server Side Languages, and you can get your own Domain Name (http://www.yourname.com).

If you do not want to deal strictly with HTML code, you can go to the web space resources page and download one of the HTML creation tools listed. If you are interested in looking and learning HTML code you can begin by viewing the source of this page.(click view > source in your browser file menu bar) There are HTML comments explaining the setup of a web page, as well as most of the tags used to create this site.

Now that you've done that Let's get started...

D&E Jazzd does not provide any further support for web site creation, this site was designed to be a working example and tutorial of how you can build your site, or simply use this site as a template for your own site.
